What do typical assignments look like?

HR Flex gives small businesses (typically between 5 to 100 staff) access to HR Director level expertise at a time to suit the business owner - 'pay as you Go' HR.  

Typical assignemts could be:

  • Disciplinary and grievance issues
  • Appeal hearings
  • Day to day ad hoc people issues
  • Contract, policies and NDA's
  • Change management programmes
  • Restructuring projects

How does this service differ from what else is out there?

HR Flex is fundamentally different as it is a "Pay as You Go HR" service, and is designed to complement your existing HR support and service, without increasing your monthly fixed costs. On average, our clients reduce their legal costs by c.50% as their reliance on expensive lawyers is significantly reduced, thanks to the level of expertise and commercial savvy of our HR Flex team.  

We recognise that very few of us work traditional 9-5 hours, therfore you will get the personal mobile number of your dedicated HR Director, which means that they will be available at a time that suits you!

Finally, and by no means least, all our HR Flex team has access to the extensive Connor IP library that will allow you to achieve your business objectives more quickly.  

I'm not sure if I want to commit to additional HR resource at this time?

Think of HR Flex as 'Pay as you Go' HR and you only pay for what you use. With no fixed costs and no monthly retainers then you are not committing yourself. We only work for you when you expressly authorise us to so there are no surprises.  

I don't really have the time to engage with this service right now?

Many of our HR Flex clients when they first engaged with us stated that they also didn't have the time to engage.  This was true as in most cases they were getting bogged down in people issues that was taking them away from revenue generating activities. Once we demonstrated that our HR Directors were business savvy, hands-on and practical and that they could make a difference within the first hour then they quickly engaged.

How do I best access the Connor resources and IP?

As we have been in business for two decades we have access to a large library of relevant IP, all of which you have access to.  For example, if we are reviewing your polices and procedures you can access our templates saving you time and money as we can build great policies in a fraction of the time than if we were starting from scratch.   

How do you allocate your HR Directors?

In the first instance one of the two business owners (Paul Connor or Fraser Silvey) will discuss your requirements and agree which of the HR Directors is likely to be most suitable. You then get to meet this HR Director, face to face, and only then if you are fully comfortable with this individual will they become your dedicated HR Director.

Where would my HR Director work from?

Your HR Director has a fully operational Connor office work set-up and are therefore fully productive from the very beginning. They will work where they are most productive be that at Connor or at your offices.    

How do you charge?

We agree an hourly rate (and pro-rata thereof) and only work when you expressly authorise us to.  We keep a spreadsheet of all work carried out and before we invoice we check this with you to ensure that all the work is authorised by you.  We invoice monthly, but if the hours worked are less than five then we rollover these hours to the next month. In essence, no surprises!

There is a strong possibility that I will not need this person for months at a time, is this an issue?

Not at all.  We do not charge for retainers, nor do we charge for standby, nor do we insist on contracts. There is no obligation to use the service and the gap can be as long as you like.  We have been in business for two decades and are extremely patient!
