The Business Objectives
InfoSpace, Inc. (Nasdaq:INSP), is a leader in mobile media, private-label search and online directory. The company had been on the acquisition trail and had invested in hiring a European Senior Management Team to grow the business significantly. A new Managing Director had been appointed to lead Europe whose goal was to create and articulate a European business Vision and to build an organisation structure that would achieve this goal.
He wanted to invest in accelerating the performance of the senior managers from both an individual and a team working viewpoint. The Connor Consultancy was appointed to work closely with each of the Senior Managers to ensure that performance improvement was embedded and locked into 'the way we do business around here'.
The Business Issues
The Senior Managers were exceptionally busy and did not want a 'classroom intervention'. They wanted a practical way to implement vision and strategy at all levels with the minimum input from them with the maximum business benefit.
They wanted to see precisely what their senior managers were currently doing in their jobs, and most importantly of all wanted to see what they should be doing to improve their performance. They wanted to quickly identify the specific things that the senior managers were doing that were blocking momentum and performance and to identify the major causes of these actions.
The Business Outcomes
- The senior managers as a result of this Executive Coaching intervention were able to quickly build a robust European Vision that everybody agreed to.
