The Business Objectives
Black Box, the world's largest IT catalogue company was looking to become the world's largest technical services company. This objective would be achieved through an aggressive acquisitions strategy of data services companies who provided structured cabling solutions to the marketplace.
The Business Issues
Black Box in the UK looked to The Connor Consultancy to carry out due diligence of target companies in terms of the calibre of their people, the strength of the management team and their customer engagement readiness. All core working practices were explored to ensure that Black Box was acquiring a business of value.
We also had to ensure that the target companies were operating within the law from a people perspective.
The Business Outcomes
- One target company was identified as a "red light" that had previously been sanctioned for acquisition. This saved the Client a minimum of &po1 million.
- We worked successfully with Black Box to restructure a number of newly acquired businesses to improve effectiveness and increase profitability.
